Car handbrake cables
A working braking system is fundamental in our car. It has an enormous impact on safety while driving and on safe parking. That is why as many as two types of brakes are fitted in our cars – the main one and the so-called handbrake. It is often the case that we take more care of the main brake, and only remember the handbrake at the moment we need it. The handbrake in a car is referred to as the additional, or emergency, brake. It is used above all as a parking brake – in order to secure the vehicle against rolling away from its parking spot. It is also needed in the event of a failure of the primary brake – the handbrake must then bring the vehicle to a halt. It is operated by hand or by foot, depending on the vehicle. It is therefore no wonder that it is an extremely important element in every car. Part of it is the cable, the so-called handbrake cable. It is worth adding that a traditional handbrake usually acts on the rear axle wheels and is operated mechanically, that is, a special mechanism works thanks to the components of the main braking system, which usually (during normal use of the car) are actuated hydraulically or pneumatically.
The handbrake

The brake handbrake cable will not fail suddenly, because as it wears out warning signs appear which indicate the need for prompt replacement. If we notice problems with applying the handbrake or releasing it, then we are dealing with a damaged cable. One of the relatively rare failures is the complete loss of the handbrake. More often one encounters the inability to apply the handbrake. Handbrake cables are subject to chafing and corrosion if the protective coating cracks. The way the brake cable is made attests to its exceptional strength or flexibility, which is why the cable should be chosen carefully, so that it is compatible with the make and model of the car.
High-quality car handbrake cables
Moreover, the handbrake is indispensable when pulling away uphill, especially on a steep gradient, and for securing the vehicle against rolling downhill when we stop. That is why it is very important that the cable for this brake is solidly made and of very good quality. This matters for the use of the car and for safety. Such cables are produced and distributed by our company. What are they characterised by? They are very solid and strong, and ensure safe and efficient operation of the car.
