  • brakes – the brake cable in a car is one of the most important. In every car there are two cables: the handbrake and the classic brake. When replacing an automotive cable, you must give the model, make and year of the car, as they are matched to the braking system in particular vehicles. There are also different types of automotive cables, depending on the manufacturing technique and material. Braided wires form mini cables, which in turn make up the brake or clutch cable. They are characterised by great flexibility. The second type are cables made up only of braided wires. They too are used as brake and clutch cables. A characteristic feature of this type of cable is high strength. In brake and clutch cables a special grease is also used, which markedly reduces friction
  • bonnet release – the bonnet release mechanism in a car is also based on a cable. If there are visible difficulties in opening the bonnet, closing it, or it does not drop very freely and considerable slack is visible, then it is essential to take care of replacing the bonnet release cable before it starts causing bigger problems
  • cab lifting – cables of this type are little known and very rarely replaced. This usually happens when we can no longer lift the cab at all, it jams completely and causes more problems. However, they can easily be avoided by taking care of regular replacement and inspection of the cables in the car. It is also worth ensuring that the cables being replaced are of the highest possible quality.
  • speedometer – speedometer automotive cables are very important, as they allow the correct assessment of the speed attained and contribute to adjusting it to the prevailing conditions on the road and the regulations. In many cars one does not feel the speed being reached until the driver looks at the speedometer, which fails if the cable is damaged.
  • seat adjustment – every driver likes to have a well-fitted seat. Adjusted appropriately, it ensures driving comfort and good visibility in the mirrors, which must also be set, as well as the height and field of view. That is why, when the seat adjustment cables are damaged and stop working, they should be replaced without delay.
  • starter – without an efficient starter cable we cannot move the vehicle properly, as this part of the car is co-responsible for its ignition. The starter cable works every time we start the car. Sometimes it is hard to notice or sense whether it is damaged, so all the more one should take care of regular inspection of the cable and its replacement.
  • clutch – This is another type of automotive cable to which particular attention must be paid. Without the clutch there is no possibility of moving the car or changing gears, and if we ignore the warning signs and the cable snaps while driving, then we have quite a problem. However, it will be easier for us to stop the car than in the case of a brake cable failure.
  • tachograph – without a functioning tachograph professional drivers are not allowed to take to the road. It is a very important part in every vehicle, as on the basis of measurements of time and kilometres travelled, professional drivers have breaks which must comply with the regulations. If the cable in the tachograph is damaged, and seriously so, then this device may not work properly, which will contribute to too short a rest for the drivers.
  • door lock – in a car it may jam for various reasons; in winter this most often happens due to severe frost, however car door locks may fail to work or jam because of a damaged, worn cable. They are used in carburettors, which are part of the fuel supply system of a combustion engine. Handbrake cables are one of the elements of the parking brake used to secure the vehicle against rolling away from its parking spot and in case of a failure of the main brake. Brake cables allow the efficient operation of the entire braking system of the car, activated by the foot through pressing the brake pedal.
